After months of hype, the Four Nations Face Off is almost upon us, with four loaded teams doing battle to see which is the best hockey country ahead of the 2026 Olympic Games, which will see the NHL return to the biggest international stage.
While Team Canada may have disappointed at the recent World Juniors tournament, the squad is built for success at this level, with Brad Marchand among the stars that will be on show for Canada.
Now, the Boston Bruins captain has sent a major threat to the competition at the tournament, promising that this will be a tournament that everyone wants to win in a big way.
That's no surprise coming from Marchand, who isn't going to change his style of play regardless of the situation, and if others like Sam Bennett can step up to the plate, this could be a brutal tournament.
Some have criticized the tournament as one that teams won't take seriously, but according to Marchand, every single player at the tournament will want to make their country proud and come home a winner.
Perhaps most importantly for Marchand however, he's excited to play in Montreal for the first time in his career without getting booed, as he has done for years as a member of the Bruins, but now, they'll be on his side.
If everyone has the same attitude as Marchand, this tournament could be one of the most entertaining tournaments of hockey in recent memory, and even playing against teammates at the NHL level, it appears that at least the Bruins captain will be out for blood.
