Details Officially Revealed on the massive Mikko Rantanen, Carolina Hurricanes Deal
Taylor Hall has been an obvious trade candidate all season long for Chicago, and now, a three-team deal has seen him officially moved on from the Windy City.
Given their lack of overall talent this season beyond Connor Bedard, the Chicago Blackhawks made it clear they're still rebuilding this season, and with former No. 1 overall pick Taylor Hall on the roster, it was clear that he was going to be moved at some point this season.
Now, TSN's Pierre LeBrun has dropped a bombshell, revealing that it was a three-team deal, with Carolina unsurprisingly involved given how much they've been searching for depth up front in 2024/25, with a third-round pick seemingly on the way back to Chicago.
After reports that Taylor Hall was being traded to the 'Canes, insider Frank Seravalli made a shock revelation that the deal would see Mikko Rantanen moved to the Carolina Hurricanes alongside Hall in a shocking deal.
That report was then confirmed by Elliotte Friedman, with one of the NHL's biggest stars set to be moved after the Avalanche made it clear that they did not want to meet his asking price in free agency this upcoming off-season.
Somehow, the deal has gotten even more ridiculous however, with Arthur Staple of The Athletic confirming that one of the pieces going back to Colorado in the deal is rising star Martin Necas, who is in the midst of a career year with the Hurricanes in 2024/25.
