Paul Bissonnette and Wayne Gretzky provide quality analyses on TNT during hockey games, and the former player opened up about 'The Great One'.

Paul Bissonnette recently shared about having worked alongside Wayne Gretzky during coverage on 'NHL on TNT'. On 'The Jackie Redmond Show', he shared about having developed a new understanding of the game thanks to Gretzky.

Bissonnette was struck with awe at Gretzky's humility. The hockey great that Gretzky is, he is humble and down-to-earth, things that are greatly admired by small-town Ontario boy Bissonnette. Gretzky's legacy is out on display.

"(Being involved with NHL) Alumni and the Players Association, and how much work (he puts in) and how much he cares about the game itself, and just just how he treats people ... just the way that he carries himself. That's the biggest thing that I've taken away from him," Bissonnette said.

A multiple-record holder in points (2,857), assists (1,963), and goals (894), he captured four Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers, took in nine Hart Trophies as a league MVP, and gained ten Art Ross Trophies as a leading-scoring player in the NHL.

Gretzky is a human hockey encyclopedia, per Bissonnette

Enshrined in 1999 in the Hockey Hall of Fame, he epitomized his time. Now, Bissonnette calls him an "encyclopedia on hockey," praising him for recalling highlights and shedding light on those moments with fans.

"He's a hockey encyclopedia. He remembers every single story, all the details, it's wild. So getting to sit around with him when we have dinner, or whether it's after a show, if we're having a couple drinks, like just even being able to listen to him and go back in time through a time machine in the hockey world is amazing," Bissonnette added.

A former Penguin and Coyotes player, Bissonnette is a studio analyst on 'NHL on TNT', and covers the Arizona Coyotes.

Furthermore, he is also a co-host on Spittin' Chiclets with Ryan Whitney. Having spent time with Gretzky, a newfound appreciation for the game is cited.
