Bruins fans disrespect hockey after bad penalty on Jakub Lauko
The Boston Bruins dropped game three against the Florida Panthers tonight, but that was far from the biggest story to come from the game. In the 3rd period, fans started throwing trash on the ice after a questionable penalty call.
Bruins forward Jakub Lauko was driving towards the net, cutting in from the outside one on one against Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad. Ekblad wrapped his arm around Lauko's left shoulder, grabbing onto him and pulling him off balance. As the play unfolded live, the announcers thought that it was going to be a penalty on Ekblad for holding, but instead Lauko was called for goaltender interference, even though he had nowhere to go.

The response from fans was pretty one-sided with almost everyone agreeing that the refs messed this one up. There was a lot of frustration from fans watching this one, even from people who are not fans of either team. All fans want is for the games to be called fairly after all.

The response from the fans in the building was predictable. First came the classic, "refs you suck" chants. Then came the trash. Many fans in attendance started throwing garbage on the ice, showing their displeasure with the officials and causing a short delay in the game.

The Bruins ultimately fell 6-2, but they showed some life in the 3rd period after the brutal penalty call. Hopefully the team can channel that energy into game four, otherwise they may very well find themselves in a 3-1 deficit heading back to Florida for game five.
