Oliver Ekman-Larsson reveals why he joined the Toronto Maple Leafs
On July 1st, the Toronto Maple Leafs made waves by signing former Florida Panthers defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson to a 4-year, $14 million contract. This decision received mixed reactions online, with both critics and supporters voicing their opinions.
Recently, Ekman-Larsson, now a Stanley Cup Champion, shared his reasons for choosing Toronto.

In an interview with Craig Morgan of PHX Sports, he praised Brad Treliving, the Leafs' general manager.
"I don't want to sound like I'm sucking up, but Brad is one unbelievable person. I don't think Toronto knows how lucky it is to have a guy like that who cares a lot about his surroundings, organization, and players," Ekman-Larsson said.
Brad Treliving has faced the challenging task of revamping the Leafs, drawing both criticism and praise. Ekman-Larsson's endorsement of Treliving, having worked with him previously in Arizona, is a positive sign for Leafs fans.
At 33, Ekman-Larsson proved his value last season, playing 80 games for the Panthers and scoring 9 goals with 23 assists. While a 4-year contract for a player his age carries some risk, the hope is that Treliving and the Maple Leafs are making strides in the right direction. Only time will tell.
