Toronto Maple Leafs primed to steal star Bruins winger Jake DeBrusk
The Toronto Maple Leafs look to be one of the top teams to sign Boston Bruins winger Jake DeBrusk in free agency.
This offseason will have loads of chaos and many star players will leave their current team for other cities around the NHL. The Boston Bruins have star winger Jake DeBrusk set to hit the open market and it appears the Toronto Maple Leafs are among the top contenders to land him.
The Leafs are expected to be "one of a handful of teams" in the race to sign Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk this summer.
The Fourth Period went on to detail the other teams in the mix for DeBrusk.
If DeBrusk hits the open market as a free agent in July, several teams in need of a physical top-six forward will be calling, with suitors like the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs potentially in the mix.
DeBursk is coming off a 19-goal 40-point campaign for the Boston Bruins. The winger has shown more potential though as he scored 27 goals and 50 points in only 64 games in 2022-23. If the Leafs were to put him alongside Auston Matthews and William Nylander, he would certainly be primed for a true break out year.
