Tonight during the Toronto Maple Leafs preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens forward William Nylander has gone to the locker room with an injury.

During the Maple Leafs and Canadiens game William Nylander was on a forecheck trying to get the puck back. As he went up the ice he appeared to be pushed by his teammate Nick Robertson causing William Nylander to fall and his head to go into the knee of a Montreal Canadiens player.

Many fans are blaming Nicholas Robertson for the injury to William Nylander. He looks to give a speed boost to William Nylander but does not give the superstar a heads up. Nick Robertson is already on thin ice after requesting a trade away from the team this likely will only worsen his view from a fan's perspective.

After the hit, William Nylander was hunched over in pain and eventually headed to the locker room. If he is going to miss time this will be a massive loss for Brad Treliving, Craig Berube, and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With William Nylander seeming to be dealing with a head injury the Maple Leafs plans to begin the season could be in jeopardy. The plan all offseason was to move William Nylander to center to begin the season. If he misses time the Maple Leafs will not only be missing an offensive weapon but not a crucial center in the defensive zone as well.

The injury to William Nylander comes after the Maple Leafs endured a close call earlier in the night after John Tavares was on the receiving end of a dirty hit.

John Tavares would eventually return to the game after being in pain on the bench. As of now, it seems as though the same fate will not be the case for William Nylander. He remains in the locker room being evaluated.

As updates are made regarding William Nylander's health and potential diagnosis we will pass that information along to you.
