According to TSN's Darren Dreger the Vancouver Canucks are close to hiring former Penguins GM Jim Rutherford as a member of their new management group.
Dreger was unable to confirm if Rutherford would occupy the position of GM or Club President, but he did report Rutherford's signing was all but complete at this time.
Rutherford left his last post as GM of the Penguins in January of 2021 and hasn't occupied an NHL job since.
UPDATE: It's official Rutherford will be both interim GM and President.
