Potential Draft Day Move Between Canucks And Blackhawks Leaked
The Blackhawks are rebuilding and could be looking to acquire another top-15 pick to pair with Connor Bedard and their trade partner may already be determined.
Potential Draft Day Move Between Canucks And Blackhawks Leaked
The Blackhawks look like they are at the start of a long rebuild involving many high-end draft picks. Last year they traded Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach to get the 7th and 13th picks which turned into high-end prospects Kevin Korchinski and Frank Nazar.
After winning the first overall pick in this year's draft and the right to draft generational talent, Connor Bedard, the Hawks look to be adding more high-end picks.
Currently having the 19th overall pick, the Hawks are looking to move into the top 15 and a trade partner may have been leaked.
The Canucks make a lot of sense because they are cap strapped and will need to shed cap to be able to make a move to make them competitive.
What Would A Trade Look Like?
Per the outlines provided by Powers, we could see a trade that looks like this:
To CHI:
11th Overall + Connor Garland
To VAN:
19th Overall + 51st Overall
This would be a big move for both teams because Chicago will likely be able to get a player they really want that compliments Bedard while Vancouver sheds cap space and acquires a later pick as well.
