Edmonton Oilers trade Ryan McLeod away to Eastern Conference foe
It was just announced that the Edmonton Oilers will be moving on from forward Ryan McLeod as they have sent him to the Buffalo Sabres.
Insider Elliotte Friedman announced that the Oilers are trading Ryan McLeod to the Buffalo Sabres.
Ryan McLeod is being traded from Edmonton to Buffalo
Believe Matt Savoie is return. Ty Tullio also going to Sabres
Matthew Savoie was the 2022 9th overall pick and has been one of the top prospects in the entire NHL. He has suffered injury setbacks recently but is still one of the better prospects in the league.
For Buffalo to trade Savoie away, either he requested a trade away or the Sabres have lost full faith in his development and don't see a future where he is more valuable than Ryan McLeod.
McLeod has been a third-line player for the Oilers and does what he does well. However, to trade a 20-year-old 9th overall pick away to get him is simply mindboggling from Buffalo's perspective.
