This season is a critical one for the Boston Bruins, with the team on the verge of a deep Stanley Cup Playoffs run, but after falling short, they've turned to many young players ahead of this season. That is something that captain Brad Marchand addressed in the off-season, and now, superstar forward David Pastrnak has made a joke at his young teammates expense after an overtime winner helped the team to 2-1-0 on the season.
It was a much needed goal for Pastrnak, and one that lifted the Bruins to a much needed 2-1 victory after the Bruins offense faltered for most of the night, with Jeremy Swayman again the hero after stopping 33 of the 34 shots he saw in the game.
After the game, Pastrnak addressed the overtime unit that helped lean the Bruins to a victory, making this joke about the two young teammates that were on the ice with him.
In some ways, there may be truth to the joke from Pastrnak, as he is often paired with the veteran stars on this Bruins roster, but the kids showed up to play in that crucial OT period as they may be winning the trust of their superstar teammate. Ultimately though, they got the job done in a big way, and while Pastrnak may be alongside Elias Lindholm for the most part, this could go a long way to proving that those young names could be a major help for the Bruins as they once again chase a Stanley Cup.
