Corey Perry's past is coming back to haunt him, as shocking new revelations have been revealed regarding the scandal surrounding him and Connor Bedard.

The Edmonton Oilers recently re-signed Corey Perry to a one-year contract after he was picked up by the team late in the previous season, when the Blackhawks cut him following a major scandal. It appears that Mark Lazerus of The Athletic has provided a little more clarity on the situation with some developments.

"I've been asked "what really happened" by my poker buddies, my cardiologist and my own family. My response is always the same: We've reported what we can report. Do we know more than you do? Yes. But the bar to clear is very high when it comes to sensitive stories like this one. Until we have every detail of the story (not merely dribs and drabs), backed up and corroborated by sufficient sources, we won't report any of them. And we may never."

"A better question, one I really want to know: How much do the Edmonton Oilers know? Just scratching the surface here. I'll have Part 2 of the mailbag soon."

The Blackhawks decided to cut Perry from the team during the 2023-24 season after horrible rumors broke out involving Connor Bedard's mother. Specific details of the event were never quite revealed, although we do know that an "alcohol fuelled" incident broke out at the end of a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

To this day and even with the latest developments, no one truly knows the exact details of that fateful day, and many are now starting to blame the Oilers organization for being involved in this potential cover-up scheme.
