Vancouver Canucks reportedly give Elias Lindholm a massive contract offer
The Vancouver Canucks and GM Patrick Allvin have reportedly offered Elias Lindholm a contract worth nearly $50 million per insider Elliotte Friedman.
Today on the 32 Thoughts podcast NHL insider Elliotte Friedman shared information about the Canucks and their contract discussions with Elias Lindholm. It looks like we could see Lindholm receive north of $50 million if he signs an extension with Vancouver.
"A couple of weeks ago on the pod, during the playoffs, we talked about the recruiting efforts from the Canucks players were pretty intense. You gotta stay, you gotta stay, you gotta find a way to stay.' I still think that's going on. This is my guess: I think the Canucks are willing to go in the 77 range; I'm just not sure it's going to get it done. I think the Canucks want this player." - Elliotte Friedman
With the Canucks willing to offer Lindholm a contract of around $7 million per year, a long-term partnership could work as Lindholm fit well within the Canucks lineup. In the playoffs, he was among the Canucks best players scoring 10 points through 13 games and being a defensive monster.
The Canucks now have around a month to work something out with Lindholm and if they cannot, then he will hit free agency for the first time in his career.
