Ovechkin currently has until 2026 when his contract with the Capitals is up. Ovechkin currently has 836 career goals which is just 58 goals behind Wayne Gretzky for first all time.

Assuming Ovechkin is able to stay healthy, he should have a fair shot at catching Gretzky but only time will tell if he is able to beat him before 2026.
