The police investigation into Oshawa Generals forward Connor Lockhart is officially concluded and we now know his fate.

Investigation Into Lockhart Officially Ends

Recently the police announced that they were investigating Connor Lockhart, a 21-year-old former Canucks prospect, and he was immediately suspended by the OHL.

Today, Lockhart's fate has been announced.

The OHL's official statement is as follows:

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) today announced that it has concluded a League investigation into the conduct of Oshawa Generals player Connor Lockhart.

The OHL understands that the Durham Regional Police Service has closed this matter. The League investigation revealed that Lockhart violated OHL rules and the League's Code of Conduct. This is in addition to the findings of a previous Oshawa Generals team investigation that determined the player violated team rules.

The League has determined that a suspension of eight games, which has been served dating back to the regular season game of February 1st, is appropriate. He is eligible to return to the Generals' lineup as soon as tonight, Saturday, February 17th, when they visit the Erie Otters.

Lockhart will soon report back to the OHL and will be able to continue his hockey career. He was originally a 6th-round pick of the Canucks but had his rights expire and is currently a UFA.
