Capitals defenseman Ethan Bear enters the Player Assistance Program
Washington Capitals defenseman Ethan Bear has had a rough year and will now be joining the NHL Player Assistance Program to get help for off-ice issues.
It was just announced by insider Chris Johnston that Ethan Bear of the Washington Capitals will be going into the NHL Player Assistance Program. The Player Assistance Program helps NHL players struggling with a wide variety of issues from mental health to substance abuse.
Ethan Bear will be away from the #caps for an indefinite period while receiving care from the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.

Bear is in the first year of a two-year deal with the Capitals. He has previously played for the Edmonton Oilers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Vancouver Canucks. This season Bear has played in 24 games for the Capitals scoring 1 goal and 4 points.
While the reason why he entered the Player Assistance Program is unknown, we wish Bear all the best on his road to recovery.
