The best fight of the night on Saint Patrick's Day comes from the AHL. Two original six franchises' affiliates treated fans to an insane fight.

Crazy Fight Breaks Out Between Maple Leafs And Canadiens Affiliates

Tonight a former NHL enforcer has caused chaos in the AHL. Former Maple Leaf and Los Angeles Kings enforcer Kyle Clifford decided to go after the Montreal Canadiens' goalie prospect Jakub Dobes. When Dobes went to play the puck behind his net Clifford came barreling in and ran him over.

Kyle Clifford runs into Jakub Dobes and then gets into it with Olivier Galipeau.

As a result of Clifford going at Dobes one of Dobes' teammates came in to stick up for him. This caused an all out brawl between the two teams. After the players were separated penalties were handed out. Clifford was given 4 minutes for roughing while Olivier Galipeau who stepped to Dobes' defense got 2 for roughing.

Kyle Clifford gets 4 for roughing and Olivier Galipeau gets 2 for roughing at 15:20. Our penalty kill gets to work

The fight was noticed not just by fans of the AHL but fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs as well who think Kyle Clifford could be an asset to the Maple Leafs down the stretch.

I hope Keefe is watching the Highlight reels from the @TorontoMarlies games lately! Kyle Clifford is on a mission and we need him on the 4th line time Playoffs come!

While Clifford likely will not end up in the NHL this season as the Maple Leafs already have Ryan Reaves for this role it could earn him his way back to the NHL eventually.

Both Toronto and Laval the Canadiens affiliate are locked in a playoff battle heading into the home stretch of the AHL season. It will be fun to see if these two matchup any more with the high stakes of a playoff win on the line.
