Former NHLer Publicly Threatens To Sue The Vegas Golden Knights
The Vegas Golden Knights have become cartoon-like villains in the eyes of most NHL fans. Today they continued that trend, sparking one former player to take action.
Former NHL Defenseman Threatens To Sue Vegas Golden Knights
The team used a clip from the Spittin' Chiclets podcast where former NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney was talking about the team. They took the clip, edited it to make it sound more positive, and showed it on the jumbotron during their game today. Whitney was not impressed.
This is not the first time the team has taken someone else's work without permission. However, it may be the first instance where the team could get in trouble for it. That being said, it appears as though this was just a joke from Whitney. The Spittin' Chiclets X account even posted the same video with the caption, "10/10 troll job."
So it seems the Golden Knights have gotten away with this one. They may want to be more careful about their choices in the future though as others might not be as understanding.
