Well it didn't seem like it was going to happen but the Montreal Canadiens will have Carey Price play this season.

Price hasn't played since game 5 of the Stanley cup final vs the Tampa Bay Lightning. Price then had off-season surgery to repair his nagging knee injury he's had since the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals when he was run into by Chris Kreider.

After that Price signed himself into a NHLPA Substance abuse program one week before the regular season began. Price was Originally cleared to begin his return to play in November but unfortunately Price has had set-backs with his knee and in February he had a Covid like illness.

The Canadiens then shared that Price might not play this season due to salary cap space but finally things look good to go as Price is expected to make his return Saturday in the Bell Centre vs the Washington Capitals.

The Canadiens only have 9 games left in this disappointing season but Carey wanted to play this season even if it was one game. The Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes also wanted to get Price some action because it's believed that with the Canadiens are going into a rebuild and Hughes is going to ask Carey to waive his no trade clause for the purpose of trading Price to a contender next season.

Whether or not they trade Carey Price he will go down as the winningest goaltender in Montreal Canadians history and will likely have his #31 retired at the end of his career.
