In game 6, the Oilers reunited McDavid and Draisaitl in hopes to overpower the Kings defence and bring them victory, which is exactly what happened, but the problem is, we may have learned that Draisaitl is not playing at 100%.
In game 6, McDavid played 24:02 of ice time and Draisaitl only played 18:25 and in the past Draisaitl due to penalty kill time, usually averages the same, if not more ice time than McDavid.
From the sounds of these hockey insiders, Draisaitl might be a game-time decision for tonights game 7.
Doesn't mean he's not playing. Likely a game time decision is what we'll be told. https://t.co/MfGvHfgz9s Ryan Rishaug (@TSNRyanRishaug) May 14, 2022
Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft won't respond when asked if Leon Draisaitl (ankle) will play. Says Todd McLellan put it well last week when saying it's the time of year to not speak about injuries. Helene Elliott (@helenenothelen) May 14, 2022
