BREAKING: Winnipeg Officially Relocating to the United States
The Winnipeg Ice have officially been sold and will be relocating to the united states, becoming the 7th CHL team to play in America.
Winnipeg Sold and Relocating
This past season, the Winnipeg Ice were the best WHL team. They lead the WHL in points and have a plethora of top-tier talent. Boasting multiple lottery picks and 6 NHL draft picks, the Ice were elite.
Former Ice ownership decided to sell high on the franchise and they were sold to David White who will be moving them to Washinton State.
They only stayed 4 seasons in Winnipeg but were quite successful there. They will look to continue their success and finally win a WHL championship.
This has introduced some instability for the Winnipeg Jets because even the most successful teams have left for the USA. With locations like Atlanta, Houston, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and Sacramento. The Jets could relocate after the lack of sales and not being able to sell out the second-smallest arena in the NHL consistently.
