The Washington Capitals have announced they've signed forward Nick Dowd to a contract extension for 3 years with an AAV of 1.3 million dollars.
Dowd, 31, is in his 4th season with the Capitals and is currently making $750,000 per year on his current deal.
Caps fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the contract.
It seems the results are mixed but overall there seems to be two trains of thought. Either fans are happy about the player or disappointed in his age, but honestly worrying about a players age shouldn't be an issue especially on a deal that can be completely buried.
