The Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche best of seven series was supposed to be an epic seven game battle but that didn't turn out to be the case after all.

After taking a 3-0 series lead the Colorado Avalanche were looking to punch their ticket the Stanley cup final. The Oilers gave a solid effort but the Avalanche battled back from down 4-2 to force overtime.

The Avalanche would complete the sweep 1:19 into overtime when Artturi Lehkonen would knockdown a puck with a close highstick then put it past Mike Smith for the win.

The officials would review it to make sure it was a good goal and that's when we got a hilarious moment from former NHL Official Don Koharski who was doing play by play commentary for TNT. Here's what Mr Koharski had to say:

"That's pretty clearly a high stick to me from my vantage point. Wish the CBC or TNT crew showed additional camera angles, at least one that makes it conclusive.

Koharski: "holy s###" Ho...ly.... sssshhh ucks that's gonna be close!

The Avalanche could have up to 10-12 days of rwaiting to face the Tampa Bay Lightning or New York Rangers.
