The injury occurred during Game 3 of the series between the Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche with the Avalanche leading 2-1. On the play Ryan Johansen inadvertently got his stick tangled in Darcy Kuemper's mask. The stick made it through the eye hole of the mask and Kuemper was cut on the play and was forced to leave the game.
