Brad Marchand Says Goodbye to Boston Bruins Fans With Incredible and Expensive Gesture

Brad Marchand is off to the Florida Panthers, but he took the time to purchase a full-page ad in the newspaper and say thank you and goodbye to the Bruins fans.
Brad Marchand is writing the final chapter on his hockey career with the Bruins, but not without expressing gratitude to those fans as he bids farewell to Boston.
On Friday's NHL trade deadline, the Bruins traded their long-time captain and 16-year veteran to the Florida Panthers, closing an era for one of the franchise's most recognizable players.
Marchand wasn't just a fan favorite for his on-ice work, he made a lasting impact off it too, becoming a popular figure in the New England community for close to two decades.
Marchand wrote a letter on a full page in The Boston Globe newspaper
It's no surprise, therefore, that Marchand penned a heartfelt letter to B's fans, published in Monday's edition of 'The Boston Globe'.
To Boston,
Thank you for welcoming me into this great city when I was just a young Canadian kid looking to break it into the best league in the world. You allowed me to achieve my dream of playing in the National Hockey League and winning the Stanley Cup. For this I am forever grateful. You also embraced me from Day One, a and me immediately brought me into your family. Since that time, I have become a husband and a father to a beautiful family. My family is your family. We are Bostonians now and forever.
Representing this city as captain of the Boston Bruins was the greatest honor of my life, and it was a privilege to wear the Spoked B over the past 16 years. Boston will always be a part of me, and it will always be a part of my family. There are far too many people I want to thank to be able to include in this short note, but just know how grateful I am for the time I spent in Boston playing for the Bruins.

In the process of joining his new club, Marchand remains on the recovery track due to an upper-body injury, so the timeline for his Panthers debut is uncertain. Florida officially introduced him Monday morning.
