It's often said in the NHL that players make there paycheque in the regular season and build their legacy in the postseason.
Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron certainly showed that today battling to stay in the game after receiving a high stick to his face above his eye from Carolina's
Sebastian Aho.
Bergeron even argued with the referee to try and stay in the game.
Although ultimately leaving the ice after the officials insistence in the 2nd period, Bergeron returned to the ice in the 3rd, scoring a goal and adding 2 assists to help Boston beat Carolina 5-2 and even the best of 7 series at 2 games each.
Playoff hockey really demonstrates the toughness and willingness to play through injury and pain NHL players have demonstrated over the years, and Patrice Bergeron really exemplified that Sunday afternoon.
