Unfortunately for the Predators, with playoffs starting next week, their starting goalie Saros went down with an injury the other night against the Calgary Flames, and things are not looking good.
Here's what it looked like as Juuse Saros came off the ice and went down the tunnel. Injury? Equipment issue? No idea right now. pic.twitter.com/xmt63ZRfvU Alex Daugherty (@AlexDaugherty1) April 27, 2022
Both Elliotte Friedman and Frank Seravalli reported on the injury today and it does not sound good for Saros and the Predators.
This time of year teams are incredibly tight about injury information, but hearing Juuse Saros will miss at least the Predators' final two games of the regular season. Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) April 27, 2022
While Friedman's note sounds a little better and that it could only be for the regular season, Seravalli's comment is enough to strike some fear into the hearts of Predators fans.
As @FriedgeHNIC noted, specifics hard to come by on #preds goaltender Juuse Saros - but sounds like original injury prognosis was less than encouraging.
You never know in playoffs, but fair to say there is real doubt as to whether Saros will be available for Round 1. Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) April 27, 2022
If Saros is not ready for round 1, do the Predators stand a chance in the playoffs? Rittich is currently the backup on record and he has a very poor season with a .883 save percentage.
