The Vegas Golden Knights made history en route to the 2022-23 Stanley Cup Championship, just an incredible six years after they came into the league behind Captain Mark Stone.

A critical injury

That Championship run didn't come without drama however, as Stone revealed the brutal injury he suffered in the clinching Game 5 against the Florida Panthers.

On the Pat McAfee Show, Stone revealed to the world that he suffered a broken hand in that game early, and after 'taking some stuff' in between periods, he pushed through and recorded a hat-trick to lead his team to glory.

A historic performance

That performance in itself made history, as he became the first player in over 100 years to score a hat-trick in a Stanley Cup clinching game, with the last being back in 1922.

Overall, it was a tough year for Stone, but he showed his toughness to push through back injuries and fatigue to lead his team deep into the playoffs, and after it was all said and done, he told McAfee that he forgot all about his wrist when he finally touched the Cup.
