Moritz Seider blocks a shot and is in extreme pain (Video)

Moritz Seider, 20, was off to a career start that most NHL rookies could only dream of. The rookie dman from Zell, Germany had posted 13 points in his first 19 games and looked poised to compete for the Calder Trophy this year.
Late last night in the 3rd period Seider blocked a shot with the Red Wings down 5-1 to the Vegas Golden Knights and the rookie was clearly in trouble. The shot appeared to strike Seider in the kneecap and the rookie fell to the ice for several seconds, before struggling his way to the bench.
After the game when asked Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill had no update on the rookies status as he was still being evaluated. This could be an incredible loss for the Red Wings but an even bigger loss for Team Germany at the upcoming Olympics as Seider had already been named as an early announced member of the group of 3 for the German squad.
