In what some might consider to be a shocking turn of events Gary Bettman has acknowledged the abuse of Kyle Beach at the hands of former video coach Brad Aldrich.
Today in a video call Bettman acknowledged that the league was "sorry for the abuse Beach had suffered.".
Up until this point most of the conversation had been centered around the cover up of the allegations and not the allegations themselves.
The NHL also agreed to cover the counselling for Beach and his family for as long as was necessary.
This is definitely a step in the right direction, but there still remains some really important questions like the ones asked by Allan Walsh.
Walsh also brought up a great point about the new NHL process if reporting.
The league has a lot of work to do to end the toxic culture that has been exposed here, but let's hope the league can head in the right direction.
