Evander Kane was on a downhill spiral and was picking up speed. After having his contract terminated with the San Jose Sharks, many wondered if anyone would take a chance on Evander Kane and all his personal issues and the issues he brings to the room.

Kane is gifted offensively, he has scored 30 goals on multiple occasion and is usually a shoe-in for 20+ goals in a season:

General Manager Ken Holland decided to make the risk and bring Evander Kane onboard with the Oilers and it turned out to be probably the best call he has ever made as GM. Evander Kane thrived in Edmonton, scoring 22 goals 39 points in 42 games in the regular reason and 13 goals 17 points in 15 playoff games.

The Oilers looked like they could have gone all the way this season, but simply got outmatched by the powerhouse Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Finals.

Kane was asked how he felt about the season, which he responded:

A few months ago I had the opportunity to pick where I wanted to go. Edmonton was interested in me and I was interested in them. We had some success. Moving forward there are many things that factor into the decision. I've really enjoyed my time here
This is got to be the best organization that I've played for.

Kane was a very important member to the Oilers this year and seemed to be appreciated in the locker room. Holland has already spoken about the possibility of resigning Kane, and it looks like he would enjoy staying.
