The Arizona Coyotes have been attempting to trade their star defenceman for the past few months, especially after Chychrun came forward in a press conference saying he wants to be part of a contender.

Besides the high asking price that was reported before, one of the major reasons a trade has been yet to happen is due to his injury history.

Chychrun just started his 7th season in the National Hockey League, and up to this point, he has only played in a full season one time, and that was the 56 game shortened season.

Even this season, he has only played one game, so it 's definitely not helping his trade value. But when he does play, he is a very good offensive defenceman who come at a very valuable deal.

NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun has reported the asking price from the Coyotes, and even with this injury history, it's still higher than you'd probably think.

At the moment, the Coyotes are asking for two first round picks + something added for Chychrun.

The reason the asking price is so high is due to two trades last season that involved Hampus Lindholm and Brandon Hagel.

For Lindholm, the Ducks received a first round pick and two second round picks from the Bruins, and Brandon Hagel who was an unproven player, the Blackhawks managed to land two first-round picks from the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Many teams are rumoured to be in the runnings for Chychrun, it will be interesting to see who finally decides to pull the trigger.
