One team that was super active in free agency this year was the Detroit Red Wings. The Yzerplan has been in effect for a few years now and it looks like the Wings are ready to go from rebuilding mode into contending mode.

This offseason Yzerman added an entirely new top 6 line to his roster, bringing in David Perron, Andrew Copp and Dominik Kubalik, and also added the veteran presence of Ben Chiarot, Olli Maatta and Mark Pysyk on the back end, and also bringing in some more goaltending depth with Ville Husso to contend with Alex Nedeljkovic.

He brought in all these players who can make a huge difference on the roster, and apparently he may not be done. It has been reported that Yzerman may be shopping 27 year old, 30 goal scorer Tyler Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi is in the final season of a contract that pays him $4,750,000 per season and after putting up close to a point per game season and scoring 30 goals, he will be looking for a significant raise.

Bertuzzi has proven that he can produce numbers, even when playing on an offensively challenged team. At the current cap hit, he will be a very valuable trade asset for the Wings.
