During the last 20ish years, only one team comes to mind when you think of a dynasty and it's the Chicago Blackhawks. The Hawks won 3 cups in 6 years and were led by two of the greatest players to ever play the game, and were both voted into the top NHL 100, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.

Unfortunately though, those days are long gone and the Blackhawks have announced that under new General Manager Kyle Davidson, the Hawks are cleaning house and entering a rebuild with a 5 year plan to be a competitive team again.

We know when it was announced before the trade deadline that both Toews and Kane were not happy with the idea, and recently Toews voiced his displeasure of the idea. He also gave a subtle hint that he might be interested in being traded.

There have been rumours circulating that Toews is interested in heading back to Canada to play in his home town. Toews is from Winnipeg, Manitoba and even has a lake named after him back home. It would be perfect timing for the organization as well, as Pierre-Luc Dubois is rumoured to be on his way out as well after telling the team he wants to go to free agency.

If this trade was to occur though, some cap space is going to need to be cleared on the Jets side as they are currently up against the cap and Toews' contract is over $10 million cap hit.

Also according to NHL Trade Rumors Toews is drawing a bit of interest from some other contending teams as well.

The Colorado Avalanche and New York Rangers have both shown some interest in Jonathan Toews.

The Avalanche being just off a Stanley Cup win, are currently without a number 2 center when Nazem Kadri left in free agency and if Toews can get back to his normal self, he could slide right into that roll as long as the Blackhawks retain salary.

While the New York Rangers have shown interest, it is not reasonable to expect them to make a deal here. The Rangers are set at center and are already pressed up against the cap.

At the age of 34, Toews is in the final year of his contract that carries a cap hit of $10,500,000.

After being drafted 3rd overall back in 2006, Toews has played in 1,014 games, scoring 357 goals and 495 assists.

Toews has won 3 stanley cups, and is a member of the triple gold club. He has won 2 Olympic gold medals, a World Championship gold, World Cup gold and World Juniors gold. So it's easy to say that winning is in Toews' DNA.
