At this point in free agency, any player who hasn't signed has a reason. This could be for money or term, or waiting out for their preferred team.
For Vancouver native Matt Dumba, it appears the latter is the case, as he only wants to play for his hometown.
Vancouver-Bound
Per sources, Dumba's wait to sign in this year's free agency is for one reason - his want to sign with the the Vancouver Canucks
The hard-hitting offensive defenseman had a great stretch in Minnesota, and will be a valuable NHLer to wherever signs him. He will also command a significant salary in today's NHL climate, which the Canucks will need to get creative to provide.
It is likely he'll take a pay cut to play in his hometown, but it'll be interesting to see if Vancouver wants Dumba as much as Dumba wants them!
Matt Dumba's preferred destination is his hometown #Canucks.
He is reportedly waiting for the team to clear some cap room before making a final decision on his future.
