Team Canada came under fire during the 2025 World Juniors tournament, and now Flyers GM Danny Briere has taken a major shot at them as well after countless questionable decisions were made before and at the tournament in Ottawa.

The 2025 World Juniors tournament was a major disappointment for Team Canada, as they were eliminated from the tournament quickly, continuing the criticism that came upon them leading into and throughout the WJC.

Now, it has continued in shocking fashion, with Flyers GM Danny Briere unloading on the team's use of their two top prospects, firstly commenting on how Jett Luchanko was used.

We were disappointed in the role they gave him. Probably the best skater at the World Juniors tournament and he was barely used.

That wasn't all, however, as he singled out their decision-making with Oliver Bonk as well, who drew plenty of criticism throughout the tournament, as he played in roles that simply don't fit his skillset.

He had a big role, but they put him in positions that is not really what is gonna be his strength moving forward, which was really weird to us.

Sure, Bonk played a major role for Team Canada, but it wasn't one that fit his strengths, and given that they left the likes of Carter Yakemchuk and Zayne Parekh off the roster to major backlash throughout the hockey community, their decision-making backfired in a huge way.

While some found inaccuracies with what Briere specifically said, he's simply reiterating what the majority of the hockey world believed about Hockey Canada, and that is simply that no one putting the team together or leading this squad had any idea what they were doing, and ultimately, it came back to haunt them, with major changes expected moving forward.
