Stars Organization Announces Tragic Passing of Staff Member
The Dallas Stars announced some terrible news earlier today.

The Dallas Stars announced the passing of Doug Overton, a longtime scout.
"It is with great sadness we share the passing of longtime Stars scout, Doug Overton"
Jim Nill, the Stars' General Manager, made the following statement:
"Doug was a scout's scout. He knew the league and the players as well as anyone in the business. His role in helping build the �99 championship team can't be overstated, and he will be missed by the entire hockey community."
Overton worked over 18 years for the Stars and had a major role in the organization's success. He drafted some of their best pas and present players, including Jamie Benn at the fifth round in 2007, Roope Hintz, during the second round of the 2015 draft, Jason Robertson, second round in 2017 and Jake Oettinger, Stars' first round pick of 2017.
