BREAKING: Phil Kessel's NHL Career Is Officially Over
The Vancouver Canucks recently brought Phil Kessel in on a tryout contract to give him a chance at a comeback. Now it seems it is over.
Canucks Decline To Offer Kessel Contract
The trade deadline has passed and the team did not issue an offer to the veteran winger. As a result, he will likely not play at all in the NHL this season.
Canucks are done. Not signing Phil Kessel.
Theoretically, Kessel could still sign but he would not be eligible to play in the playoffs.
If this is the end for Kessel, what a career it was. Hopefully he will enjoy plenty of hotdogs in his retirement.
