A new announcement has confirmed the untimely passing of Tim Ecclestone. Ecclestone was 76 at the time of his passing.
We regret to inform you of the passing of NHL alumnus Tim Ecclestone.
Ecclestone was a 9th overall pick in the NHL Draft in 1964 by the New York Rangers. He would go on to play 11 years and 692 games in the NHL.
After his time playing in the league was done Ecclestone moved on to coaching. He spent 3 seasons from 1977 to 1980 as the assistant coach of the Atlanta Flames.
