Detroit Red Wings trade Robby Fabbri to the Ducks for a goalie
Today a trade has gone down between the Detroit Red Wings and Anaheim Ducks sending Robby Fabbri to Anaheim.
The Detroit Red Wings were looking to clear out salary cap space as free agency continues. Today they have traded away Robby Fabbri and a 4th-round pick in the NHL Draft to the Anaheim Ducks for goalie prospect Gage Alexander.
UPDATE: The #RedWings today acquired Gage Alexander from Anaheim in exchange for Robby Fabbri and a conditional 4th round pick in 2025.
Robby Fabbri will slide into the bottom six of the Anaheim Ducks and become a scoring threat playing alongside many of their playmakers.
Robby Fabbri, acquired by ANA, is a bottom six scoring winger. Decent finisher but not much else to write home about.
The Detroit Red Wings in return will get 22-year-old former 5th-round pick goalie Gage Alexander. He spent all of last season in the ECHL and likely will continue to play in the minor leagues for the Red Wings.
It will be interesting to see if the Red Wings continue to make any major moves in the coming days after clearing this salary cap space.
