🚨Trade alert🚨
The San Jose Sharks have acquired Egor Afanasyev from the Nashville Predators in exchange for Ozzy Wiesblatt.
Afanasyev scored 54 points in 56 AHL games last year and was a 2nd round pick in 2019. Wiesblatt was a bit less productive with 17 points in 50 AHL games. He did improve in the playoffs scoring nine points in 15 games, however. Wiesblatt was originally a first-round pick in the 2020 NHL draft.
Afanasyev will get more of an opportunity next year with the Sharks while the Predators will be able to develop Wiesblatt further in the future with a player that has a bit higher of an upside.
