Since five players were convicted for the 2018 WJC scandal, the hockey world was pondering what is next for them in the sport and one player could be going east, Michael McLeod.

Since the 2018 World Junior Championship scandal names were announced, all five players, Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, Alex Formenton, Dillon Dube, and Carter Hart, took leaves of absence from their respective teams.
Today a rumor was announced claiming that Michael McLeod could be signing in the KHL for next season as no NHL team will want to attach his name to them.
Add #NJDevils Michael McLeod name floating around #KHL - saying that he is in negotiations with Metallurg.

Just a rumor for now, we'll keep an eye on it.

The logistics are quite questionable as McLeod would need to leave the KHL midseason to head back to North America to attend his court case.
With his court case taking place during next season's [KHL] playoffs, hard to see a team take him knowing he'd have to leave to go back to North America during them.

While nothing is set in stone, it will certainly be something to look out for heading forward.
