Major Update On Patrick Kane
The Detroit Red Wings have been one of the more interesting NHL teams to watch this season. The team made a major move when they signed Patrick Kane in November but he has since been injured. Today, head coach Derek Lalonde gave us an update on his status.
Lalonde Updates Media On Health Status Of Star Winger Kane
The American born winger has been one of Detroit's most lethal offensive players since he signed with the team in November. However, he left the game early last Sunday as the team faced the Toronto Maple Leafs and he has not returned to the lineup since. Today, head coach Derek Lalonde gave us an update on his status.
Derek Lalonde said Patrick Kane and Ben Chiarot will be out tonight. Kane will see the doctor today, so we'll know more about his status tomorrow. #LGRW Apparently, Kane was set to see the doctor last night, but the team's plan arrived later than anticipated so his meeting was pushed back to today. Still though, it seems that Kane could be out for a few more games as he is yet to get a definitive prognosis.
Red Wings broadcast host John Keating confirmed today that Kane will not play tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning. This will be the 3rd consecutive game that he will miss.
I KNOW there's another game earlier! But Ben Chiarot and Patrick Kane both out for tonight's game against TB. @DeKeyser5 will make his Red Wings Live debut with us at 6:30 on @BallySportsDET
The Red Wings are 2-1-0 since losing Kane, including the game against Toronto where he played just a couple of shifts. Tonight they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in a critical matchup for their playoff chances. A win would go a long way to solidifying their spot in the playoffs so they will be dearly missing Kane tonight.
As seen on Derek Lalonde shares updates on Kane, Husso and Chiarot.
