Connor Bedard fires back at Paul Bissonnette for his comments on his play
The Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard fired back at Mark Messier, PK Subban, and Paul Bissonnette for their recent comments on his play in a recent interview.
Over the weekend, former NHLers turned ESPN analysts P.K. Subban and Mark Messier shared their thoughts on Connor Bedard's play in a live intervention on ESPN.
Messier didn't mince his words, noting how players who don't earn their ice time are killing the teams' morale, highlighting Bedard's disappointing efforts.
In his own words:
"There's no quicker way to destroy the morale of a team than to have players who don't earn their ice time."
Listen to Messier's full comments in the video below:
Then, yesterday, Bedard was back on the ice for a game against Connor McDavid and the Oilers, a game broadcasted by TNT.
Paul Bissonnette, Spittin Chiclets' co-host and TNT analyst talked about how Bedard lacks many things in his play and that his team will continue losing if he doesn't change.
Here's what he said:
"There's so many little details to his game that he's lacking right now They're going to continue to lose hockey games if that's how he's playing. That is pond hockey."
In a new development, we learned that Bedard talked back at Bissonnette in an interview, saying he knows when he makes a mistake and he doesn't need to watch a TNT broadcast to know he made one.
Watch his interview here:
This season, Bedard, 19, tallies 46 points in 53 games with the Blackhawks, which isn't bad at all for a sophomore year.
He still has a lot of time to develop into the superstar he is poised to be, and it's much too early in his career to be blatantly criticizing him in the media.
The Blackhawks will be back in action tomorrow night against the Nashville Predators. We're eager to see if Bedard will be able to have a bounce-back performance following a tough game against the Oilers.
