Carter Hart, convicted 2018 WJC scandal goaltender, rumored to sign a new contract in Russia

Despite the crimes that he has been convicted of, it may have not stopped former Philadelphia Flyer Carter Hart from signing a new deal.

With the trial for the 2018 World Juniors scandal involving five players, Carter Hart included not expected to take place for another year, the former Flyers goaltender is now back in the game.

Now, Hart is rumored to make a move to the KHL in Russia after a prominent hockey account on X gave this teasing post;

Hart is banned from playing for Team Canada in any competition, and won't be accepted into the NHL while he awaits trial for the heinous crimes he has been convicted of, but it appears the KHL may have no such qualms. Hart has a career 2.94 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 227 games played in the NHL, and now looks to extend his career away from the United States.

The 25-year old may have now agreed to terms in the KHL, with his career set to start again despite still not going to trial.

If this happens, we will await word on whether or not the NHL or the Canadian authorities allow this deal to happen.
