The Arizona Coyotes' future in the City is coming to a head, as they continue to struggle to secure a proper NHL arena. While Gary Bettman has stated that the Coyotes' owner has promised he will get a deal for a new arena done, that has yet to happen.
However, this plan has its own hurdles, notably with the NHLPA, as they state that the new plans don't meet the needs of its players.
Now, there is a another wrench thrown into the Coyotes' future in Arizona. Insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed that owner Alex Meruelo told staff that he would meet with them to discuss the future of the organization, however, that meeting has not happened.
There could be other reasons why this meeting has yet to happen, but clearly, it does not look good on the current ownership group, which has failed to get anything done in Arizona. With so many cities vying for NHL teams, the future doesn't look bright in Arizona.
