Arizona Coyotes Owner Blatantly Lies To Staff About the Future of the Coyotes Organization
The future of the Arizona Coyotes is turbulent right now, and it looks to be getting murkier. The Owner of the team was just caught in a lie about the team's future.
Coyotes Struggles to Find New Location Continue to Put Franchise At Risk
The Arizona Coyotes' future in the City is coming to a head, as they continue to struggle to secure a proper NHL arena. While Gary Bettman has stated that the Coyotes' owner has promised he will get a deal for a new arena done, that has yet to happen.
Bettman on #Yotes arena situation: «Alex Meruelo told me he was certain he will get this done I am hopeful and reasonably confident he's gonna do what he says.»
However, this plan has its own hurdles, notably with the NHLPA, as they state that the new plans don't meet the needs of its players.
Coyote's Owner Lies About Meeting With Staff to Discuss Future of Organization
Now, there is a another wrench thrown into the Coyotes' future in Arizona. Insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed that owner Alex Meruelo told staff that he would meet with them to discuss the future of the organization, however, that meeting has not happened.
A couple of weeks ago, Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo said he'd address his staff about the future. It hasn't happened yet.
There could be other reasons why this meeting has yet to happen, but clearly, it does not look good on the current ownership group, which has failed to get anything done in Arizona. With so many cities vying for NHL teams, the future doesn't look bright in Arizona.
