Former NHL assistant GM Steve Werier has proposed a three-way trade involving the Canucks, Rangers, and Red Wings moving JT Miller out east.

Former NHL executive Steve Werier has been away from hockey for some time but recently proposed a blockbuster three-team trade.

Originally, Werier was hired by the Florida Panthers in 2016 and was fired in 2017 before the Vegas Golden Knights' expansion draft.

However, recently he took to social media and proposed a three-team trade that would send JT Miller to New York which would resolve the locker room feud between him and Elias Pettersson.

To the Canucks: JT Compher (4x5.1), Ryan Lindgren (4.5/expiring), DET 2025 2nd, & the higher of DET's two 2025 3rds.

To the Rangers: JT Miller (4x8)

To the Wings: Chris Kreider (3x6.5)

Here, the Rangers would be giving up Chris Kreider and Ryan Lindgren to get JT Miller back. The Red Wings would be giving up JT Compher and two picks in the upcoming draft for Kreider. Finally, the Cannucks would be giving up the best player in the trade, JT Miller, and getting back a few other pieces.

Canucks fans caught wind of the former executive's post and were quick to share their opinion on the three-team trade.

It is easy to understand why Canucks fans are evasive about the idea of this trade. Miller is coming off a 103-point campaign which saw him lead the Canucks in production. Miller is also capable of playing on the penalty kill which makes him an even more premium asset for any team looking to add.

While the idea of recouping many assets for the Canucks may seem attractive in the short term, as it gets rid of the feud between Miller and Pettersson, it would probably come back to bite them as Miller could exhibit his top skills in New York.
