The Chicago Blackhawks moved Seth Jones over the weekend, and now they've found themselves a hulking replacement for the veteran, with a former seventh-round pick recalled to the team on Monday.

This past week has seen plenty of movement for the Chicago Blackhawks, with the highlight of their moves being the deal to acquire Spencer Knight and a first-round pick in exchange for Seth Jones.
Now, they've seemingly called up his replacement, with Philipp Kurashev heading to the Injured Reserve, as 6-foot-8 defenseman Louis Crevier finds his way back onto the NHL roster after a fairly impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign.
Crevier was a seventh-round pick of the team back in the 2020 NHL Draft, making his way into 24 games with the Blackhawks last season before seemingly finding his groove on the blue line earlier this season.
In 23 games played, Crevier tallied 3 assists and 1 goal alongside a respectable -1 given the poor nature of the teams play, but it's the defensive work that makes him a potential full-time NHLer, as he has blocked 34 shots this season to go along with 47 hits.
Given his size and the physical presence he brings to the ice, it's easy to see what the Blackhawks like in Crevier, and when standing next to superstar forward Connor Bedard, his presence looks even more impressive.
Ultimately, Crevier may not end up being a full-time piece on the Blackhawks blue line, but with Jones out the door, it makes sense for them to give a 23-year old the opportunity to win the role, and with plenty of games left this season, he'll likely get a very long leash to do just that.
