Two weeks have passed since the NHL confirmed the Arizona Coyotes' relocation to Utah. Now, the team is getting ready for their first season in the NHL.
Yesterday, it was announced that management has signed the first player of their history.
Indeed, Noel Nordh, drafted 72nd overall in 2023 by the Coyotes, signed a three-year entry-level contract in Utah.
Nordh played his whole career in Sweden's second highest division. This season, he scored 16 goals and 21 assists in 65 games with Brynas. He also tallied one goal in 13 playoff games.
Unless he shows that he deserves a spot for the roster on Utah' opening night, Nordh should return to Sweden for the next season. He should also play an important role for his Country in the next World Junior Championship.
If Utah wants to be a competitive team for their first season in the NHL, they'll need to be very active during the summer. Nordh's signature could be the first one of many by general manager Bill Armstrong for Utah.
