The Chicago Blackhawks Roast Paul Bissonnette After Controversial Comments on Connor Bedard
The Chicago Blackhawks roasted former NHLer and Spittin' Chiclets co-host Paul Bissonnette after his controversial comments on Connor Bedard.
It has been quite an eventful week for the 2023 first-overall pick, Connor Bedard. Just days after being called out by Mark Messier in an ESPN segment, Paul Bissonnette made brutal comments about him that quickly made headlines.
During an intermission in the Blackhawks' game against the Oilers last Wednesday, Bissonnette criticized Bedard for lacking key details in his game, claiming that Chicago would continue losing if he didn't change his style of play.
He even went as far as saying Bedard was playing "pond hockey."
In his own words:
"There are so many little details to his game that he is lacking right now... they are gonna continue to lose hockey games if that's how he's playing. That's pond hockey."
Then, on Thursday, Bedard responded to Bissonnette in an interview.
The Hawks' young forward stated that he doesn't need to watch a TNT broadcast to know when he makes a mistake on the ice.

Now, in a new development, the Blackhawks have stepped in to support Bedard.
They made a post on X celebrating Bedard's 22 points in his last 21 games-directly comparing that feat to Bissonnette's 22 career points.

Bissonnette didn't shy away from responding, saying he loved the Hawks' post:
Could this be the start of an off-ice rivalry between the Chicago Blackhawks organization and BizNasty? It'll be interesting to see what happens next.
After a two-point game against the Nashville Predators yesterday, Bedard will be in St. Louis tonight to face the Blues in the Blackhawks' final game before the two-week 4 Nations Face-Off break.
